CONVOY OF HOPE CONCORD – SATURDAY, APRIL 28, 2018
Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization. CTC partners with Convoy of Hope, other churches and community leaders to bring day of hope to our area.
The Convoy of Hope event is just the beginning of a long-lasting movement that has the power to transform people’s lives, inspire compassion and service, and bring people and organizations together like never before.
This community event is a collaborative effort to bring hope to a city through free groceries, health screenings, job and career services, family portraits, haircuts, prayer, games and activities for children and more.
This all-volunteer event mobilizes resident to serve and make a difference in their community. Strong participation by local businesses, churches, community agencies and individuals is crucial to the success of this event. Through this collaborative effort we do together what no one could do alone.

WELCOME TO COMPASSION MINISTRIES
Our Compassion Initiative is multiple programs designed to help meet the needs of those in our community – the poor, those enduring hard times, the elderly, single parents, and widow/ers. Check out the many ways you can be involved by clicking on the tabs… we would love to have you join us! The goal is to provide practical acts of service, while building relationships and showing the love of Christ.
We will be collecting backpacks for our Adopt-a-School, Bel Air Elementary. Our goal is to collect 800 backpacks. Please pick up a bag and fill a need. For more information contact email@example.com.
ADOPT A SCHOOL
CTC has adopted Bel Air Elementary School in Bay Point and our very own Calvary Temple Christian School. What does adopting a school look like? Our goal is to bring hope and encouragement to teachers, staff, children and families. We do this by praying for the schools and providing practical acts of service: school clean up days, listening to students read, teacher appreciation breakfasts, Spanish translators at parent teacher conferences, etc.
Join us for prayer at 9:30am on the 1st Saturday of every month at Bel Air Elementary.
All volunteers will need to be fingerprinted with the Mt Diablo School District and have a TB test.
For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The 3rd Saturday of every month we meet at the church at 7:00am. Then, we go to a local laundry facility where we provide loads of laundry for those in need. We also provide a hot breakfast, Bibles, coats, and blankets. We are in need of financial contributions, laundry soap, fabric softener, dryer sheets, and bleach pods. Have some extra quarters lying around? Drop them off at the Compassion kiosk and help do a load of laundry for someone in need. For more information contact CleanStart@calvarytemple.org
Come join the fun in making an EASY TO ASSEMBLE quilt for the children who attend Royal Family Kids Camp. We meet the 2nd Sunday of every month at 11:30 in Conference Room 1 (upstairs). Don’t sew? Please donate… each quit cost approx. $44.
HARVEST TO HOME
Harvest to Home is a way for our church family to bring a Thanksgiving meal to those in need. Weeks prior to the Harvest to Home event, we gather all the fixin’s for a traditional Thanksgiving meal via our Compassion Bags. Then the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving we assemble the groceries and take the meals to those who have signed up to receive.
With your participation we can make a significant impact! Here’s how you can help:
- DONATE items requested on the Compassion Bag (@ the Compassion kiosk in the lobby)
- ASSEMBLE groceries: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2017 @ 6pm
- DELIVER Thanksgiving meals: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2017 @ 9am
